PROFESSOR MARCOS SILBER is an Associate Professor of Jewish Modern History in the Department of Jewish History, and Chairman of the Gotteiner Institute for the History of the Bund and the Jewish Labor Movement, at University of Haifa. His research focuses on East European Jewish History, with an emphasis on Polish Jewish History, and a concentrated academic interest in the relationship between citizenship, culture, and ethnicity. He has written on Jewish Diaspora Nationalism, Yiddish and Polish mass culture in inter-war Poland, and on Polish-Israeli relations and mutual migrations. Silber is now preparing a book on the transference of motifs between Polish Nationalism and Zionism.
MICHAEL H. TRAISON is a partner at Cullen and Dykman, LLP in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights department. Michael has represented corporate clients in commercial matters for more than 35 years. In his international law practice, Michael maintains a special focus on Israel, Poland, and Eastern Europe, and has appeared before courts throughout the United States, Poland, and Israel. Michael also serves as Executive Vice President of the American Association of Jewish Lawyers & Jurists (AAJLJ) and has three decades of extensive activity on the ground experience in Poland Focused on the preservation of Polish Jewish heritage.
