PROFESSOR DROR ANGEL
, a marine ecologist, is chair of the MA program in the Department of Maritime Civilizations, School of Marine Science at University of Haifa. He previously served as a researcher and head of the environmental laboratory of the National Center for Mariculture, Israel Oceanographic & Limnological Research, Ltd. in Eilat, Israel.

Professor Angel is involved in several projects dealing with environmental issues, mainly in the coastal zone, that affect and are affected by human activities. He has been studying environmental interactions of marine aquaculture since 1991 and has coordinated and taken part in numerous national and international projects on this topic since then. Professor Angel employs citizen science to involve the public in efforts to study and protect the marine environment. He is one of the leaders of the ongoing EU H2020 project GoJelly that proposes innovative schemes to address both harmful jellyfish blooms and microplastic pollution.
